Hey all,
This is the first time I have posted and I would like to say that this seems to be a very informed forum. Anyway here are my questions.
(1) for thoes of you that have a stick-Is it harmfull to coast in nutral? Howabout when you are sitting at a light?
(2) Other than a kn FPIC (sorry about the spelling) what are some cheaper MPG mods that can be done
(3) I am planning on replacing my stock exaust system with high flow components. How much will this affect my low end?
(4) Haveing just bought the truck what maintenance would you all recomend?
well I think that covers all of my initial questions. If it matters at all I have a 1994 V-8 5 speed with 108,000. Thanks for any and all info.

Check the plugs, replace with Autolite 3923s gapped at .035

Check the tranny fluid/replace w/synthetic 10W-30

Check/replace the differential fluids with synthetic 80W-90

Check/replace the transfer case fluid with synthetic ATF

Run 6 or 7 bottles of fuel injector cleaner/valve cleaner through the system

As far as the tranny questions. My dad always taught me to stick her in nutral at a light and to coast to a stop. He sometimes sticks it in nutral when going down hills. Which I have heard is bad. He has a Jeep Cherokee with the 5 speed and I reckon with a 150K miles on the clutch and tranny (including teaching me to drive) it can't be that horrible.

Yes when you are at a light put it in nutural and let your foot off the clutch. It will extend the life of your clutch. As far as coasting down hill I would leave it in gear. My 2 cents

I use compression braking (down shifting) a lot when coming to a stop light or slowing down hill.
