Subject: Tire flaring IP: Logged
Message: Felt a little shake from the wheel today on the freeway, so took a look at the tires. Sure enough, both front tires are showing flaring. Rears are fine. Pressure on both was right at 38 psi. Also notice a slight pull to the right, but that must be the crown on the road.?!@# Should I have the dealer look, or just pay a good alignment place a few bucks and save the tires. Are the Dak's prone to this? Blew a set of tires on my last car 'cuz I didn't pay to have it done right (dealer kept saying the car was w/i specs, but until I paid someone independent, the tires were flaring/wearing quickly) '01 qc, 2wd 4.7l, lsd 3.55. 1500 miles now, and determined to get this truck right.

Message: My Dak had an alignment problem initially as well. However, I didn't have a problem getting it done right under warranty. Mine also pulled to the right abd the steering wheel wasn't lined up correctly. All fixed one time visit.

Message: Decided to bring it to a local independent this morning, as I also wanted his input on the axle alignment issue. He was shocked at how far off the rear wheels were, and quite interested in finding out what, if anything, is off. Hope he finds something conclusive. The time to take my truck to a dealer, get a ride, etc, wasn't worth it v. a 2 min walk from the local guy to my office.
