Subject: Aftermarket Infinity Speakers IP: Logged
Message: Hello, I want to replace my stock speakers in my cc slt+ (do not have the infinity system) with some aftermarket ones. I found that many people have liked the Infinity 652I speakers. I just want to know if anybody has these with the stock head unit and no subs. Just wondering how they sound and the quality. I really think they are a good deal ($100 a pair). Probablly going to buy four from Circuit City on Friday. Thanks for the opinions. I am going to do the install myself and know how to get the door panels off and will do a search how to get the back panel off, if anybody knows help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Message: Hey dude, that's exactly what i did, i replaced them with the 625i, the Infinity Reference 6 1/2 inch size ones. Except, i have an aftermarket Alpine head unit. But i love the speakers and they sound awesome with some good bass too. I also got them exactly from Circuit City which is the best place to do it at. You can also get them installed there for pretty cheap and that's what i did. I think they had a deal goin on where install was free or something like that.

Message: The factory speakers are "oversized" 6.5", actually 6.75". Are those a direct drop-in without adapter plates or having an air gap around the frame? Thanks for the input.

Message: Just to let whoever know, crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com) has the same infinity speakers your talking about for $99 BUT if you buy the first pair for $99 they'll sell a second pair for 1/2 price!! So even with shipping ( but no tax if your out of state from crutchfield) it would come out to less than buying 2 sets from circuit city.

Message: I bought two sets of the 6.5 Reference off ebay for $55 set. They were brand new, the last time I checked the vendor was still on there, so it might be worth a look. They sound great!

Message: Well to put my opinion in...
I've got Infinity Perfects all the way around in mine, (including two 10" Subs) and I couldn't be happier! Sound quality is great!
