Message: Raise your hood and look at the lines running from the master cylinder. They will pass through a metal block that controls the brake line pressure and from there you can trace them to the brake calipers. If you have rear ABS only there will be fewer lines (2 I think) and if you have 4 wheel ABS there will be, I think, 4 lines coming out of this metal block.

Message: one more way is to look to see if you have electrical conectors going into the frount rotor area. ABS uses wheel speed sensors to look for wheel lock up. if it only has 2 wheel abs.... there wont be any wires going into the backside of the frount rotor area. Hope this helps. Bill

Message: I have a 99 dodge dakota r/t and the abs module has failed. The dealer wanted 600 dollars to replace it. I found the part I need for about two hundered and fifty dollars. I just want to know if by removing the module from the system, am I going to have to bleed the abs. There is a break line block undernieth the computer, but I have trouble believing that brake fluid would run up into the electronic module.
