Uhhh .. close.
In HTML, there are opening and closing tags. For example if you wanted to bold something you would do it like this ...
some text
The opening tag and the closing tag .. notice that the closing tag has a leading fwd slash ../
The same thing applies when you want to hot link say some text to an URL. There is the opening tag and the closing tag
Between these two opening and closing tags, is where you place the text you need linked ...
www.dodgedakotas.com
Now, in that opening tag you have to enter the HREF .. the Hyper Text Reference. You do so by saying .. href= with the URL in quotes ...
href="http://www.dodgedakota.net"
This now makes the opening tag like this:
Make sure you leave a space between the a and the href ..
So. You end up with three parts:
Opening tag:
Linked text: A cool website
Closing tag:
Put it all together, and you have:
A cool website
