Subject: Canoe Rack? IP: Logged
Message: I have seen the hitch-mounted canoe rack, but that won't work (I need the hitch). Are there any others that don't require bed drilling and are removable?
Would there be some kind of a-frame for the bed that would work with a gutter rack on the roof?

Message: Use a 'gutter' style for the roof, and I've seen a nice set-up using 2, or even 3" PVC pipe made into a rack the height of the roof mounted one that goes in the bed.
Kinda like two upside T's running in parallel to the long axis, attached at the top by a piece that runs side to side to put the canoe on. (It goes down into the bed)
sorry, don't have pics, hope you know what I mean, if not, I'll try and expain it better.

This is what I looked at. It's a pretty slick idea, but I ended up building a trailer t carry a pair of canoes.
