Message: Anyone in the market for a set of rockers??? I have a set I prepurchased for someone, and they bailed out on me. So, I'd let 'em go for $550 + shipping (they are brand new, never out of the box).

Message: 73656PK - ROCKER ARM KIT Dodge Late Model 318 1.7 3/8 W/1Pc Pushrods
- $693.78 is the jobber price from Crower's website.
These include guideplates, longer pushrods, studs, and rockers. Ready to go. I have run my Crower 1.7s for over 50k miles now--
These are the highest quality rockers available (stud rockers)... These are smog legal 50 state too (if you even care about that).
With Mopar headers, netted be 25 hp and nearly 45 ft. lbs. of torque to the rear wheels (31 hp and 56 tq at the flywheel).

Message: I obviously don't know jack about rocker prices and the site is hardly informative about the application. I take it these are the ones you have in your R/T(number 318 is throwin me off).
Rockers were on my wish list but I thought only if I were not going to swap out the cam as well. Noticed you've done both and I can only assume this is working well for you....hmmmm...might need to revise my wishlist.

Message: I never planned on going with a cam.. so I did the rockers (1.7s) and loved 'em... But, the mod bug hit me again, so I had Crower grind me a cam based on the 1.7s and 1.92 RT heads (unported).
I think the combo is very good for me, probably not the perfect/best... but all around it's great (both NA and with 100 shot of N20).

Again, I don't know a whole lot about rockers so please excuse my ignorance.

Message: They're the same rockers he sells on his site. Notice in post #1 above he says they're a set that someone ordered but then didn't follow through on the purchase. They retail for over $700. He normally sells them for $580 cuz he's da man. He's got a set IN STOCK that he would be willing to sell for $550.
Ok so here we go... Crower 1.7 ratio roller rockers, the hi-rev kit with all the bells and whistles, an additional $30 discount off of his already lowest-price-ya-prolly-gonna-find-on-crower-stuff-online plus he has them in stock ready to fly.
Get it? Got it? Good.

Message: Definately the highest quality-- plus I have a great relationship with them (I sit at their counter at least once a month either getting something for myself, or picking up something up for others). So far my best NA pass (only have 2 passes on this combo NA, with my converter and custom PCM mod)-- 13.98 @ 98 2 weeks ago, and a 14.00 @ 99.5 this past weekend. I went with a 100 shot of N20 from NX-- 12.62@108.5 2 weeks ago, and a 12.685@110.4 on Saturday. Haven't tested this on an M1-2bbl yet (I've got the 4bbl), but I would imagine a bit better low end-- though I am not hurting in that department anymore!)

Message: I cant see paying more than $400 for old style steel rockers. Get some billet aluminum Harland Sharps for $295. over $500 is f'in crazy, why dont you just personally rape the guy along with taking all his money? I know these rockers do give alot of power on a Magnum engine but for what you guys are charging you could get a NX kit, and everyone knows a NX kit=alot of fun.

Message: You're funny... Old style steel rockers??? Guess you haven't used or seen Crower's in person. These are proven parts, and have been around for at least 6-7 years. You get any guideplates with the HS??? What about longer pushrods as you throw the revs up??? Hmm.. Adjustable?? Ugh.. you gotta ask to get them adjustable... Sure no addition cost, but it was an after thought. The HS rockers came out to compete with the other brands out there-- the sales pitch is 'no adjustment necessary'... Put 50k, or 100k miles on a set and let's compare them to a set from Crower that's run the same amount of mileage (or more). If you want to save some cash, and skimp on quality-- go for HS. You want to run NX with the HS setup?!?! LMAO... Go for it... Get ready to order your new long block!
FYI-- I sell the Crower K kit with no pushrods or guide plates for $425 (that's a mere $126 more than the HS... but well worth it).
And YES-- NX is a lot of fun... I run it on my truck, with my Crower 1.7s, and my Crower cam.

Message: Hey, listen to Sam, he's an upright guy! I just bought a set of Crower 1.7's for my V6 from him a few weeks ago. They're a stainless steel ROLLER ROCKER...not "old style steel". They have a roller bearing pivot and tip, just like every other roller rocker ever manufactured. Aluminum is cheaper because it's easier to machine, but everyone that I've talked to who knows anything about roller rockers says that it doesn't have the long term strength that stainless steel has. It also doesn't have the mass, which might be beneficial for short, high RPM runs.
On another topic, Sam gives excellent service. I discovered last Thursday evening that Crower had not shipped the rocker studs with my order. I emailed Sam at 10:00 at night, and I had a reply in my mailbox the next morning. He called Crower and had them ship a set of studs to me FedEx Saturday delivery! That's service! Thanks again, Sam.

Message: They are basing/building those off the Wampler rods which cost $800, that is some markup from them Sam! I may offset grind a crank and use Eagles, but the total may still be around $600ish. But it's alot of work. Hey Sam I am, I am sending you a 50 CNC, used, to check out, whatch yer mail...and I need Bruce to make me a 75mm 4.7L and take one of the 55's out to a 58mm for two motors here. Please pass that on to the Boss man for me. Later Dood!

Message: I'm sorry guys i didnt feel it necessary to post my name in response to this subject. I'm not at all flaming or bashing anyone or their products. I was told by a very reliable source that these HS's are the way to go. This is from the e-mail they sent me....
no lash adjustments to mess with -its all built into them, no
guideplates
or studs to buy, no hardened pushrods to buy since you don't have to
use
guideplates.
And its not like there unhappy dakota drivers with HS's Look guys this is an interesting topic and I'd like to elaborate. No flames or wars.

Oh Brother... sorry, guide plates are used to help keep things centered (has nothing to do with need or using hardened pushrods)-- Pushrods come with the Crower kit because they are LONGER than stock, and are needed in high rpm applications so to keep the rocker-lifter relationship the same, and not allow the rocker to pop off of the pushrod (stock).
If you believe the HS are the best-- go for it. The people that build motors know what's best--

So far my truck has put over 27,000 miles on my crowers and havent had any problems at all. But i believe i paid a lot less than those advertised prices but then again that was almost 2 years ago.
sam,
is there a guideplate/pushrod kit for sale without the rockers?

Message: You paid a lot less because this kit is for a V8, full kit with the works. A V6 kit is approx. 25% off in price (full kit), and V6 without guideplates/pushrods is even cheaper. That's the difference.
I am the Crower man... hehe.. Email me-- I can get you a price on individual pieces, springs, cups, clips, retains, camshafts, guideplates and pushrods. Numerous lengths for different applications.

i think i paid right about $300 for mine. I was just curious to see if you can get them and from that response i am darn certain you can. I dont plan on getting anything for sometime (getting married in 8 months), but i would like a higher revving valve train in the future.
thanx sam!
