Subject: Hypertech Programmer III... IP: Logged
Message: This may sound a little weird, or this may be completely out of the question, but I was wondering if anybody is willing to rent out their programmer. I'm in college right now and don't have much money, but at the same time need to get some more power outta my 5.2L. The motor just feels like it is pulling around a hunk of iron...(yeah i know the truck is heavy)...I'm just lookin for that little extra go power. I don't even know if this is a reasonable idea, but if you think it is and are willing to rent your programmer out that would be good.

Message: Oh ok, so I'm assuming it will read the VIN off the computer and store it so that it can be used over and over again on the same vehicle only???

Message: I'm not sure how they have the Dodge ones set but the chevy ones exchange programs. In other words it pulls the stock memory out and downloads the performance memory into the PCM. If you use it on another truck it will only download a stock program.

Message: Hmmm...lets say when you use it for the first time you program it for example, to RUN ON 93 OCTANE. If later on, you want to reprogram everything so that it runs on 87 or 89, is this possible, or it be held to the original settings?

Message: Just placed my order for this. They have informed me that they will keep this open until the end of the month and at that time will determine the price based on the amount of orders received at that time. No charge to plastic until then so GET YOUR ORDERS IN IMMEDIATELY and NLT COB Oct 30, 2002 to be safe.
I also informed the rep that we may have 40, 50, or even more orders by then due to the Durango site getting in and if so, would the price come down even more....rep told me most likely but could not be sure.
PS..Thanks Michael.
PSS..I will certainly start a results thread(if not already started)on this once I try mine out....Peace
