Subject: power locks stuck
IP: Logged

Message:
The power locks in my 98 Dakota are stuck in the locked position. The fuse is fine, and I can hear the switch clicking under the dash when I try to use the power locks, but they won't budge. I can't even open the lock by hand or with the key. This is happening with both doors. Is the problem the switch?

it sounds like it's in the lock itself, either take it in, or take the panel apart

I am prtty sure there is going to be a relay for this, check to see if that is still working. Being that it is both doors that rules out the motors, you checked the fuse (both? I am thinking one under teh hood and one uin the dash), start thinking about what else there is... I think there is either a relay or a fusible link you are overlooking.

Sounds like rust to me if you can't unlock them by hand. My 95 gets real hard to unlock I spray
penatrating oil on them.
