Subject: Gen II wind noise? IP: Logged
Message: Ok guys explain this to me. I have a Gen II Dak that I just purchased. When Im going about 75 on the highway there is a loud buffeting noise that seems to be coming from the mirrors. What the hell is this and how do I stop it?

Message: Well don't put on a bug deflector cause that only makes it worse. I have had coments from passengers about how loud the wind noise is. I don't know if there is a fix. When I put my bug deflector on I did notice that the mirrors sake at high speed from the redirected air flow. Probobly the only real fix is to turn the radio up.

Message: Crap... I forgot to mention that!
Mines been making that same noise sence day one.
We've had a discussion about this before, we all tried different ideas and nothing seemed to fix it. I think "unfortunatly" that DaveR is right.. Turn the volume up and the probelms gone!
Sorry.. No real fix.

Message: Is there any sort of aftermarket mirror that people have put on to resolve this problem? Or are we even sure its coming from the mirrors?

Message: I personally don't think the noise is from the mirrors.. I've folded my mirrors in and still had the terrrible noise! I have how-ever found that "usally" when the windows are cracked open a little.. the noise isn't quite as noticable. I have the "Vent-visors" on my truck so I always leave the window cracked to avoid the "noise"..
I've talked to many a person and no one including myself can figure out why or where this noise is? I've had people spray foam in most of the engine bay trying to block any air flow to the cab of the truck.. My belief is it has something to do with the doors?? If you or anyone has any insight on this or finds anything to work... please let me / us know..

Message: Have you ever noticed that whenever a bug hits your mirrors, they fly into the cab? I have never had so many bugs hit me in my life and I have owned 7 other vehicles, I think its kinda funny...I also have the same noise...

Message: Yeah, the bug issue is why I found myself a set of Gargoyles over Oakley's; impact resistant polycarbinite. I agree that it is probobly something with the doors.
