Hey Everybody, im new to this site, today, and so far im a finding it very helpful(lots of informatoin). i was just wondering if i could get your advice on a truck. im thinking of purchasing a 2002 dakota sport cc with the 4.7L in it. it has the handling group on it(bigger tires, sway bars), 2 wd, and power everything with a cd player, ohh and its an automatic. The truck has 29,000 on it and is selling for $15,000. I was just wondering if this sounded like a good deal. And 1 more question when did dodge come out with the charcoal color(that is the color of the dakota...i havent seen it before)? Any help would be great. Thanks

29,000 miles on a 2002? Did the owner ever take it out of drive?

Sounds like a great price for an 02, but has mileage of a 99. It still sounds like a buyer friendly price to me. I have an 02 QC with 4 wd and sticker was almost twice that.

You may want to head over to kbb.com and run it through the kelly blue book, but that does sound like a great deal, although very high mileage for a 2002.

Also, you may want to find out why it is being sold so quickly after first sale. The previous owner may have beat the he** out of it for 29,000 miles. Just make sure it is in sound condition and you'll be fine.

hey Lynn, Did you just post the whole KBB??? hahahaha just pissin with ya.

Hey BrianB, my 2002 has 21,500 miles on it and it still runs great (it should) the only piece of advice I can give you is check for maintenance receipts, or records. If he/she has nothing to show for it use that as leverage to talk them down. good luck

hey thanks for all the posts and ideas. I was hoping i could get the remainder of the 7/70 warrenty on it. but im not sure if it is transferable. I relize this has a lot of miles on it for a 2002 but 29000 doesnt scare me all that much. i dont put many miles on my cars anyhow. Ohh... i think the original owner traded this truck in for a new RAM. one thing i noticed about the truck is that when i first started it up the fan was really spinning(loud) but i think i read somewhere on here that that is normal. Something about the oil in the clutch fan. thanks for all you help guys/gals. ill keep you informed on how it goes.

I believe the warrenty is transferable once. So the next buyer of that truck wouldn't be able to use any remaining warrenty. I'm not sure on this, so you might call a Dodge 1-800 number and ask. Make sure you have the VIN #.
