I have a 99 dakota r/t..lately i have noticed that when i'm on the highway in overdrive my engine revs from about 2000 to 2500 irregularly
I brought it in and they claimed to fix the problem..2 days later it was doing it again
any thoughts of what it could be?

Could this be the infamous governor pressure solenoid and transducer problem that receives so much attention on these boards? I don't know, I'm asking...

Try the TPS (throttle positioning sensor). It is an $85 part american, and it solved mine and many peoples problems with a change in the RPMs

I have a stock 01 with the 4.7V and auto transmission,35K. Recently when it is put in reverse, it backs up a few feet, then acts like it is in nuetral. If you shift it to N or D then back to R it will back up normally. This happens somewhat intermittently. The mechanic adjusted the linkage, then replaced a reversing solinoid, now he says it's internal and requires an overhaul. He says he feels slippage, but I see no change. But the fluid is as clean as day 1, how can it need an overhaul?
