 Subject: Magnum V8 Emblems

Hey, I just got my '01 Quad 4.7 and realized there were no Magnum V8 emblems on it. I looked in the '01 Dakota book and sure enough not one truck with the emblems. I guess they did away with them. Anyone know where to get a set? The dealer or is there an aftermarket source? Any idea how much?

I'd call your dealer parts dept and ask them how how much the emblems are. They should be available. If they ask, tell them you have a 2000 and one got knocked off and you need a replacement and a spare.

Dealer has them. I just paid $11 for 4 cyl. emblems. V8 will probably be more since they are bigger. You will have to break off the 2 locator pins that stick out the back to put them on your truck (or drill 2 holes in your truck.....bad idea).

I noticed the same thing when I picked mine up. I bet you don't have the Quad Cab emblem behind the rear door either. Mine doesn't and I've noticed others don't. One other thing I noticed is there is no insulation under the hood. Dodge must be trying to save a few $.

Mine and Vipers both have all the emblems. Wonder why dodge stopped putting them on. My wife's 99 Durango has the hood insulation but my Dak doesn't.

BillQC01 is right. DC is trying to save bucks. You 01's don't have the underhood insulation or the underhood light. Your decals and emblems are gone. Your gauges don't have numbers anymore. BUT you did get a separate A/C switch.

The strange thing is early 01 model year Dakotas had them, but new orders and recent deliveries don't. Dodge changed it mid-year. I went to a lot after I got mine to check it out. A new one off the truck didn't have them, but ones on the lot did.

That's cheap of DC removing even the Quad Cab badges. I'm kind of lucky... I have a 2001 QC with the Quad Cab badges and I have underhood insulation too (cool ram logo formed into the insulation). Since I didn't get the V8 emblems I bought them for 14 bucks a piece from my local dealer.

Why would you want an emblem saying Quad Cab? Isnt it obvious? Should they put on emblems that say TRUCK?

Cool idea man, you should go advise DC instead of wasting the money on putting Dakota emblems, they could just put TRUCK SLT on the sides saving two whole letters total for each truck.
