Subject: Broken Lug!! IP: Logged
Message: A couple weeks ago I broke a lug on the rear drum while rotating my tires. Has any else experienced this? I wasn't using any power tools and I got the nut about half way on then snapped off.
I completely forgot about until now. Anyone know how hard it will be to fix?

Message: it takes about 5 min to fix. take off the wheel, and drum, then smack the stud with a hammer to knock it out. install a new stud from the back. i couldnt get a hammer in the back to hit it back in, so i just screwed a lug on and kept tighting the lug intill the stud starts to get pulled through. keep tightning it untill the stud will not move anymore, and you are done

Message: i didn't know you could pop the studs out like that. does that really work.
But I have 2 broken off on my left rear.
i was kinda afraid to try to rotate them again cuz i figure another will break off
but i'm gonna look into this idea
can you pick these up at the auto parts store?
thanks

Message: dak, i got my lugs from the dealer. i had a bad experience with autopart stores lugs, so i dont mind paying the higher price for OEM lugs.
also, im lowered 4/6, and running a 255/35/20. it rubs in the front a little, but im able to put up with it.
