Subject: Spark plug wires IP: Logged
Message: Hope this doesn't sound too stupid....
I want to put 8MM spark plug wires on my V^...Is there a difference between V8 and V6 wires other than 2 extra wires in a V8 kit? Some guy at Kragen told me there were different ohms or something in V8 wires and it would throw off the computer and crap! Anyone ever heard of this before? I should be able to get a V8 kit if they don't have a V6 kit and just use the wires I need right? Who has put 8MM wires on their V6, and what did you use?

Message: LOL, that's the best chuckle I've had all day...different resistance wires for a V6 and a V8. As a matter of fact, I just ordered a set of universal 8 cylinder MSD wires from Summit for my V6. I ordered kit #31189, which are the 8mm Superconductor wires with the 90 degree distributor boots and the straight multiangle spark plug boots. I also ordered an MSD #3311 terminal kit, which includes 2 extra 90 degree boots and terminals, in case I mess 1 up. This way, I'll have enough wire to have a spare or 2, plus a coil wire, and I can cut the wires to length if I choose to route them a bit differently from stock. Last and maybe least, I ordered some red Made 4 You vertical wire looms, just to dress it up a bit. Don't worry about that clown at the auto parts store, he was probably selling shoes last week.
