Subject: 265's or 275's IP: Logged
Message: Still cofused on replacment for the stock GoodGrap 255/65/15's on a 00 2wd quad cab. Which of the three sizes should i get (not sure if the LT size will fit in the wheel wells). The Bridgestone Dueler HL and HT with the 60k warrant or only made in the 265 size.
265/70/15
or
275/60/15
or
31X10.50X15
I think that the 265's would be the tallest sport tire. The 255's on there now look too small and they don't wear worth a damn.
Set me straight..I am sick of this discussion
Thanks

Message: The 275s will fit fine, and are almost an inch wider then the stock tires. You may want to have an alignment done, and make sure you're running about 1/2 to 3/4 degrees negative camber, to take advantage of the wider tires.

Message: I went to 275/60/15 and am very happy with them. Gives you a ton more choices than the stock size.
I went with Firestone Firehawk SS20's and they do much better in all aspects compared to stock. A lot of people have gone with the Bridgestone Dueler H/P's in this size and have been pretty happy with them as well.

Message: Comparing 275/60/15's to 255/65/15's the 275's are 20mm (~0.8") wider, and the difference in height is about a tenth of an inch. Virtually indentical to the stock size. Speedometer isn't off enough that you would notice or make a difference. 0.14 mph diff at 65.
Take a look at http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html and compare.
