Subject: POLL: Show, Go, or Offroad?
IP: Logged

Message:
Is your Dakota for "SHOW" (ie custom lights, paint, etc.), "GO" (nitros, headers, intake, supercharger, etc.) or "OFFROAD" (lift, mud tires, Hanson bumper, etc.). If you are little bit of everything, list what it is. Also, what do you think Dakotas are best for?

Hope this generates some good replies =D

With a modest selection of engines, cabs, and features it can be any of those things. I think that is what gives trucks such a distinction, the Dakota in particular. Look at people's profiles on this site, notice how so many of them are considerably different in just stock form.

I guess you can count me as all 3 I have done some performance mods, some appearance mods, and although I haven't done anything to the 4x4 end of it, I use it to pull my boat out of the water at times and I never hesitate to go into the mud, or do some off-roadin. I'd do a lot more to the truck, but I'm hoping they'll put the 5.7L wherever the 5.9L was (dakota 4x4)

I am just like Clevite. I don't do a whole lot of off-roading, but I take my snowmobile trailer into some damn snowy places that I wouldn't even dream of taking other cars. The Dakota is really a versatile truck.

Go Offroad defidently:) Seriously though, tough (think offroad) is part of what I need for my job (where I use my truck) and Go is part of what I want when I get in the truck. Not top end, just the ability to make it move fast - which also helps with the towing I do for work. You could say I'm going for Better, Stronger, and Faster.

Well I bought mine as a Family vechile. I needed something with 4 doors, V8 and 4x4. The price, styleing and packageing of the Dakota were definate plus's. It is an extremly well styled truck. I really like the on raod performance snd it's toweing capacity. Short of quality control issues my only major gripe is that Dodge realy handicaped it's off road capabilitys to get it to handle so car like on HWY. Overall I realy like it and am always looking for a reason to take it to work instead of my work truck!!

I'm inclined to say Go. While I'm improving the appearance of my truck, I'm not doing it to show to others. It's mostly my style and what I think my truck should look like. As for the go, I don't race or anything, but I'm always trying to improve on a good thing. I've got nothing to prove, so I don't need to go overboard on the engine mods. Offroad?! Nonono... that'd get my truck dirty!

I've never been into show. Stripped down and fast is the way I like my truck. This could get psychological.
