My question is how the hell you could get yourself thrown in jail for driving 90 in a 55... (Based on the assumption that most 4 lane highways are posted at 55 or 60)
Either you need to remember to use the signals while driving wrecklessly or dont get caught by that cop racing in a compact chevy pickup :P

Big59er, I thought about that too, it wasn't just a ticket for speed contest and speeding he got. He has a ticket for negligent and wreckless driving (wreckless you can sometimes get for going 20 over, but not always), and unsafe lane changes. My guess is this truck was swirving all over the road passing other cars sharp and unexpectedly and making some pretty risky moves. The cop probably saw him sloshing all over the road, while the Dakota might have not been (at the time?).
Like the guy Steve said on there, does he remember what he said to the cop? If those lights came on and he tried to hide from him he is seriously going to get bent over. If the lights didn't and he kept it mouth shut, he might might be in for a little luck.
Either way, I don't think he'll be racing anytime soon.

Here in Maine you can get arrested for doing 30 mph over (Criminal Speeding) the s10- if the speed limit was 55 was doing 35 mph over- criminal speed.

im kinda curious as to why the s-10 driver actually thought that he could beat an R/T .. the R/T driver probably didnt want to waste the gas.. Yes.. the R/T is kinda overrated but i dont care i love dodges and i love my R/T i wouldnt trade it for 10 s-10's... well OK maybe i would... but just to sell them all and get a 2003 R/T with a supercharge and plenty of Go fast Goodies :o)

yeah its funny as hell but I don't want a flood of s-10's coming to flame our site. I'm not saying don't post but don't anonymously flame...just point out the facts in calm, mild mannered way. We're representing the dakota...let them get pissed off and start name-calling because of they're denial of the facts. At least you can understand why they're pissed...they drive an s-10.
BTW, I know I'm a bit of a hypocrite cuz I was stiring the pot as well...just dawned on me that there's better ways of handling it.

Sometimes you have to make a choice between a good laugh and an expensive one. Like the choice made here. While I was flying down the road yesterday (only 10 over), I noticed a cop with a radar gun sitting on top of a bridge.
The cop pulled me over, walked up to the car and asked me,
“What’s the hurry?”
I replied, “I’m late for work.”
“Oh yeah,” said the cop, “what do you do?”
I responded, “I’m a rectum stretcher.”

Some of those posts over there got a bit
stupid, there's no reason to arbitrarily bash a
vehicle line in such a manner (in either
direction).
Think of it this way... The S-10s are the base
model pickups... Cheap, lightweight, not as
much power from the factory. Toss in more
money and more weight, and you've got the
Dakota. Toss in even more money and
weight, and you've got the Lightning. It's all
about how much money you've got to spend
on your vehicle. You're going to get what you
pay for from the factory, and the rest is up to
the aftermarket parts.
Just like us R/Ts set our sights on beating the
Lightnings, the S-10 guys are gunning for us.
All it takes is some money and parts and it's
more than possible... Toss a 350ci crate
motor into an S-10 and you've got a potent
vehicle with a power/weight ratio better than
the D or L.
Did anyone see that (Motor Trend?) article a
little while back with the big aftermarket
horsepower shootout? There was an AWD
Sonoma with 700hp, the 0-60 time was 2.6
secs and it did the 1/4 in the 10's, beating all
of the vehicles including tuner-boosted vipers,
porsches, vettes, etc...
I personally don't like the look, size, or power
of the S-10's, and a stock one would never
come close to beating me in a race, but there
will always be someone with better mods than
you out there, and you should never forget it
when bashing a product line.

Sincity, while what you are saying is very true and far be it from me to sterio-type, but it tends to be a majority of S-10 owners are just little punks who dont go any further than buying a "Light Show" package and calling it a day. So when someone refers to the S-10 as a peice of junk just keep in mind they're probably just talking about little punks who have gone no further than a ground FX package, not S-10's in general. (The Syclone is a good example of a perfectly fine S-10.)

I have to call bs on this kid in the s-10, he was blantantly running from this cop or he would never have gotten the gun drawn on him, you dont get a fleeing and eluding charge for pulling over and parking in a shopping center. Even if he did catch the rt(probably a lie) im guessing it was because the guy driving that thought 90 was plenty fast enough.
