Not just Dodge but the rest of the car industry. They dont built bumpers like they use too.
Pulling into my garage today and hit a table (didnt think I'd hit it), lightly. Got out of truck, looked and saw no damage. Touched the bumper and felt the driver side is a little loose. Pulled back that peice of plastic over wheel (anyone know the name?) and saw that a peice of plastic broke off that connects the bumper to the truck. Bumper is a little loose but not sure if its worth $300-400 to replace.
Hehe I could say "vandals" or someone backed into me in the parking lot... Not sure if I want to spend some time in jail for fraud =/

Now, I've just recently taken off all my bumper and front assembly and I don't remember any of the pieces being plastic. The bumper (chrome) is actually quite good at protecting everything.
You can buy specific parts ya know.

check out my rear bumper in my profile... sure
as hell saved me from totalling the truck. and
its plastic too. my Dad backed into and over
the top of my front bumper also (suburban)
and it didnt even mark it.

I have a sport cc so I dont have any chrome =/ Its all plastic (talking about the plastic/fiber glass bumper not whats behind it). The peice of plastic I was talking about is on the driver side where you can see the back of the bumper at the tire. Its bolted to that peice of plastic (cant recall name) that goes over the tire. I snuck a peek and saw a plastic square looking connector broke in half.

Bumpers? I'll try to post a pic of mine sometime soon. Go to the offroad board and search for Hanson - you won't get a cheesy music group, you'll get info about a good bumper.
