Subject: trying to sell dak(better price) IP: Logged
Message: If anyone wants to buy my dak(i know u dont, but if u do) its a resonable $13,500(dealer retail is $17,000 according to kbb. $13,500 is the lowest i can go because that is the amount owed on the loan)
only problems are some of the paint is a bit messed up, its not horrible, but it is noticeable and a small crack in the wind shield that has been repaired by the insurance company and doesnt seem to be spreading anymore.

Message: 99.9% of us already have Dakotas and don't want, or can't afford another one. Try auto trader and sh!t like that. Hell try an s-10 site, I'm sure there's tons of people wanting to get rid of their crap for something decent.
Good luck man

Message: first of all, do you live in NY?? second how many miles? 3rd my truck was $24,420 marked down to $22,975(about the same price as an R/T).
2000 R/T retail price with same options as my truck - $15,685(trade in in good cond. is 12,560)
My Truck's dealer retail - $17,400
(trade in $13,870)
zip code changes it too (in beverly hills 90210 trade in is $15,115...lol)
4x4 is expensive and R/Ts dont hold their value well at all.
so what is your point?
check it www.kbb.com

Message: He didn't say it was $17,000, he said it was $13,500. I think a buyer would pay that much but there are just not any buyers here! I bet that the $13,500 dealer R/T is not a perfect truck either and R/T's don't necessarily have as many options standard as a sport plus truck has (mine doesn't even hav power windows or power locks!.) Just priced a 2003 Dakota like yours and at a invoice plus $300 deal minus all rebates it would cost $20,600 new. All used car prices are way off the Kelly Blue Book and NADA prices right now with the huge influx of trade ins from the 0% financed new cars. Now is the time to buy some great used cars at very low prices, but it makes it tough on those of us how are trying to sell. I didn't have any luck on this board with my R/T and living in Montana with the snow about to fly makes putting it in the local paper a waste of time. I'll just wait till spring, hopefully the new rage will have slowed down and I'll be able to market it to all the college students around here who seem to have more money then I do!

Message: Hersbird, you are absolutely correct about the used car market. I was just talking to a guy about how right now is the worst time to put their vehicle for sale. However, for buyers it's an awesome time to pickup a 'new' vehicle. The car market is definitely in the buyer's favour. LI BlackdakV6, you have to remember it's only worth what people will pay for it.
Vehicles have horrible depreciation and it's something we all got to live with. If you want it sold, I see two options for you. First, is you can hold out and wait for the new-car incentives to stop. That should theoretically happen when we come out of recession. I have no idea when that will be, hah! Your second choice is to cut your losses and just sell it outright for what people are willing to pay for it right now. You might not like it, but everday longer you wait, it's value is going down. It's a risk.
