Subject: New Diff cover and nerfs installed *pics IP: Logged
Message: Well I finally got around to installing my new mag-hytec diff cover and taking pictures of the smittybuilt stainless nerf bars which have been on for awhile now. The mag-hytec is top quality stuff, no leaks, holds almost 6 quarts of gear oil, has a magnetic drain plug and dip stick to check oil levels. Here are the pics:

Message: Nice diff cover man it holds 6 quarts? WOW! I just changed my rear diff oil and it took only 2 and a 1/2 litres,Just how thick is that cover compared to stock? I was thinking of getting that next time but I have the rear torsion bar and that mag-hytech cover might be to fat to fit.

Message: I too was worried about the torsion bar clearance. I called mag-hytec and spoke to them in person about it. Very nice folks they said i wouldnt have a problem and I dont. It works just fine with about 1" of clearance still. As for the nerf bars I ordered them from 4wheelparts. They are stainless steel so I dont have to worry about rusting or anything. They cost a little bit more but were worth it I think. They mounting was very easy requiring only a few bolts and no drilling.

Message: My bad on the place where I purchased the nerf bars. I was looking through my receipts today and found that I purchased them at www.4west.com. Out the door they ran 389.22. That was by far the best price I could find for stainless steel. You could find chrome cheaper I think but I have always had problems with the damn chrome chipping off. Anyway as far as mag-hytec goes I would not hesitate to recommend their products. Definately top notch stuff.
