Message: Hello to all. I have noticed that here in the rust belt older Dodge Dakotas have very little rust compared to other trucks. Does anyone know= are they made out of galvanized steel? or what. Any rust experiances with older models?? I am tired of GM & Ford rust problems= considering my first Dodge pickup. Thanks for responses

Message: Everyone of my tracks had rust on them. I wash them two - three times a week, and waxed them about five times a years.

Message: Well it might make you happy to know that Ford and Chevy are booth useing Galvinized sheet metal these days. It took them along time though. All of their competition went to it so they were pretty much forced to.Even the lowly Caviler uses galvinized panels then another rust proofer called alpo(electrostaticly applied) then off to be painted. SO if you buy a new Chevy I doubt that rust will be an imediate concern like it was just a few years ago!
