Hello,
I have 1998 Dak 4 x 4. For the 60k service. It advises you to repack the front wheel bearings. I mechanic friend of mine said that he thought that the bearings on it were a "sealed" type. That you couldn't repack them. Is that correct? Thanks for your time.

Mark, not really sure on the 4x4. it would seem to me that "they" are sealed too, you know, cost effective to put together but not to service. you would be doing what they call the hub/bearing assembly service. laymans term "I NEED HOW MUCH FOR WHAT" they say that they last a life time, i just want to know "WHO'S" life time.
hope the info helps.

The 4x4 bearings are a sealed assy. I bought one for my 99 and it was 150 bucks at O'Reilly auto parts.

It was a Federal Mogul unit and it says on the grease seals stamped into the metal ring "Do Not Dissassemble".

So basically its a throw away item. You cannot grease or re-bearing the hub in any way.

If you have ABS & 4 wheel drive you can grease the front hub bearings through the wheel speed sensor hole.
I did this on our '97 Dak 4x4 w/ABS.
If you have any questions let me know.

MoPar to Ya!!!
