I finished my stereo install this weekend. woohoo! Sounds awesome. I proved everyone wrong that told me that I couldn't fit 2 - 12" JL W1's in a 98 RC sport dakota. I have a kenwood 150W pushing the subs and I have a Zapco 50 pushing my front 2 coaxials. It hits harder than my friends chevy impala does with 2 15" MTX and sounds a hell of a lot cleaner.

No actually they fit right behind the seats and for right now the amps are under the seats. What seats do you have the bench or buckets? Makes a big difference!

Did you have any amplifier problems like alternator whine sounds in the speakers? What model is the Kenwood amp you have? I tried to install an amp in mine and I couldnt get rid of that damn alternator whine sound in the speakers, so I got very frustrated and yanked it out and got a refund! Where did you run the wires? Any special wire routing? I want to install another amp, but not if I am going to have the whining sound again.
Any install tips would be GREATLY appreciated!

You also should make sure when running the rca cables, run them away from your power feed wire..like on opposite ends of the truck.

I pulled out the driver side seat and loosed up the center console and I ran all off the wires under the console except the power wire, it runs the driver side door sill. I do not have any problems with engine backfeed. If it is done right you won't have any noise from the engine. Let me know if you have any questions.

running 2 12s in a regular cab is not that hard, my friend has 3 12s in his reg cab s10 with the amp behind the seat also (and no he didnt cut the cab and bed). I have a clubcab with 2 10s and a huge 6 channel amp. it all fits under the rear seat! just take time to plan things and you would be suprised how much room you have.

I dont think you seen my truck. Not only do I not have a website, my truck is nowhere on the internet. My scanner is broke now, when i get a new one ill be sure to post a pic (ill try to stop spending money on my truck and buy a scanner soon)=).

JL's rock.....very pure. Had four 10w-1's in my last car with an 1150w earthquake amp. Just got a 87 Dak for a work truck and have plans to build a custom fiberglass box under the passanger side dash...looks like a 12" 10w-3 might fit well with about 1.5 cf. It ought to be the ideal location for little cancelation, and just enough room for passangers feet. We'll see............
