Congrats!! We need more of that shut some of the stang owners up about there cars. Don't get me wrong Stangs are quick but far from unbeatable. Congrats again
I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use? Toothpicks?

hey , i stayed up with a mustang 5.0 with my 318 auto kota. and it just pissed the guy off to and he had a manual. all i have is exhaust and k&n gen 2 intake.

Makes me feel really good about my 4.7L. We have a guy here on base has a 92 LX 5.0 that still has the IOWA State highway patrol stickers under the hood and some mods, like headers, cold air intake under drive pully’s and I beat him 3 consecutive runs by 3 car lengths or more. Sure glad I got the 4.7L and not the R/T. I couldn't handle only a car length and a half, would make me nervous.

hey guys i raced a 5.0 the other day to, but i didnt post my results in fear of everyone sying "yeah right" well its my freinds 1990 5.0 all stock. all i have to say is they are dogs! my speed limiter stopped me: :( no camera with me either!

Mustang drivers even knew you were “racing”
them. Did they have sticks or autos.? Don’t
get me wrong, I love my Dakota, but I also own
a 5.0, so I can probably compare/contrast a bit
better than you.
My mustang runs 13.7 @ 100 with a 2.2
(pathetic) sixty foot on street tires. It runs 12.7
@ 107 with a 2.2 sixty foot time with a 75
horse dry shot of nitrous.
Do you have time slips for your Dakotas? (I
haven’t had my Quad to the track yet)
Please keep in mind that the last 5.0 mustang
was built in 1995. The majority of them are at
least 10 years old and probably more than a
bit tired. Hell, my ‘88 has the original motor
and trans.,100,000 miles and still runs
100mph in the quarter naturally aspirated.
Yes, a 5.0 with an auto (at least a stock auto)
is lucky to run mid 15’s at the track. But any
fox body (up to ‘93) mustang with a stick that is
running on all 8 cylinders should easily beat
any stock 4.7, 5.1, or 5.9 Dakota; unless the
driver tries to leave “John Force” style and
smokes the tires and/or the trac-loc differential
is shot allowing for “one wheel peels”.

well the stang i raced had alot of miles and prolly could have used some new plugs, oil, air filter. it was a 5-speed though. my truck is a six cylinder!

Well i know my input probably isnt worth a whole lot, but one of my dads cars is a 92 LX 5.0 5-speed, it has 265 thousand miles on it... Yes 265 thousand miles, and when i take off in it, it felt just as quick as my R/T did when it was stock so I know they are high 14 second cars atleast. These 4.7's you guys keep talking about must be real beasts. It seems all of a sudden even the 4.7 auto's run stock 14's now... Like I posted on another section of this forum... Is there anything that doesnt run slower than 14's anymore?

well i know that the person raced me becasue they asked if i wanted.and it was manual and was a 5.0.and yates, i woulda beet it by a lot more but the light ahead was red.i was pullin a lot, and i proly wuda beta it more then 3 car lengths.

i very much doubt that the dakotas will beat a modded 5.0!
i own both a dakota and an '88 5.0.and nothing will beat my 5.0 period.
it does 12's seconds 1/4 mile at about 112MPH.have yet to lose to any other car,including other mustangs,vettes,camaros,trans ams,trucks etc.!
it's about 450hp at the rear wheels.
i love my 5.0 to death!

At any rate the chrysler 300 srt 8, and the dodge charger srt 8, are both running in the high 12s bone stock much less a vette owner that knows how to drive it. ls1 firebirds and camaros can be there with a cam swap and headers. And my old 88 gta runs low 13's but im not stupid or gay enough to compare it to a 4.7L daily driver. Dont worry when your not a teenager anymore you will come to realize these things.
