Subject: Dakota 4.7 V8 idle problem fixed IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 V8.The problem that I had was a low idle [500rpms with ac off] in gear. The truck stalled twice so I brought it to the dealership to get this problem fixed. The first time I brought it back I was told that they could not find anything wrong.I told them that the low idle and stall was not normal and insisted that they fix it! The dealership told me that they notified Chysler and that they would send a special tech. to look at and fix the problem.I brought the truck back to the dealership and they finally fixed it after two months.I was told they reset the minimum air flow and cleaned the throttle body. The rpms are now 650 at idle with the ac off. Hopefully this will be a permanent fix.

Message: I fixed mine by cleaning the throttle body, lots
of buildup. after only 1 year. I also switched
back to the stock airhat, instead of the
homebrewed setup.
