Message: I am not sure about how many coats, I have never kept a record. One bottle will get you many times three or four coats though. Z2 has better optical clarity and you might want it too. I know with a full Zaino setup, it should take you through the entire summer waxing every weekend.

Message: I use a little over a ounce each coat. With the new hardner stuff they have you mix it in 2 ounce containers and I have always used about anounce. I say I get about ten coats. But use the Z6 spray instead of adding coats. You may find that that will give you the best glossy look. I usually only add a coat after I go out wheelin' since I usually pickup a few new scratches.
I am reordering the spray now. I use that the most since it only takes a few minutes to do after a wash.

Message: Figure on average about 8 coats per bottle. Take it from there. Like everyone has said, sometimes a little more and sometimes a little less but use 8 as a guide.

I am going to go with the Z-5 and also the Z-2. Should i get the Z-6 spray too? I would get more stuff, but I am a very, very poor college student. Its also about that time for rent to be due and another tuition installment. Oh well. I need to take care of my truck a little bit too.

Message: I beleive for the first coat you need to use the Z-1 but after that you do not use it unless you have stripped all the wax off.
If you have minor scratches do maybe 2-3 coats but apply the Z-6 in between coats and you may stop after 1 coat. I use the ZFX so I can apply the second coat immedialty after the first and not have to wait a day. Worth the money if you care about your truck.
Make sure to read the tips and tricks for the best finish.

Message: Oh!
And like the guy in the other post you should use the Clay bar to get the paint completly clean and smooth. I did not so this first when I started using Zaino but when I did it made a big difference. It is amazing what you do not see in the paint or color when this is not done.

Message: Definitely use the clay bar! You will be absolutely amazed at the difference it makes. Be prepared to spend a couple hours "massaging" your paintjob with this bar.
Cheers!

Message: Thanks for the replies guys, but remember, i am going to only get the bare essentials. I may have to put off the claybar till later. Right now I am thinking probably Z1 and Z5. Or I will forget the z1 and go with the Z2 and Z5.
Remember... money spent on this means less money for beer. I am already reduced to drinking Keystone light, since it is 8.99 for a 30 pack. Damn that is cheap!!!

Message: Kevin is the ONLY person to get Zaino from. I am not joking, he'll take real good care of you. He also sells some custom F&C towels just for waxing your car with.
If you have any questions about Zaino, Kevin is the best person other than Sal Zaino himself to ask.
You do not need Z2, Z5 is better for scratches and swirl marks, but Z2 is more of a gloss and covering finish with higher clarity. Answer to your question, Z5 will work fine if you want just one polish. However, if you're looking for a bit more, always end with Z2 and keep it as a top layer.

Message: xplikt, do you have an email or way to contact Kevin Overall? I have been searching on here, but the link to his site does not work. I finally decided to get the Z1, Z5, and Z2. I need some towels too, so i hope I can get a few from him. What is your recommendation on the towels? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to do this right!

Why go through a distributor when you can buy direct?
Get some white towels from Wal-Mart. 100% cotton made in USA.

Message: Glenn, the prices are the same at from any distributor or directly from Sal. That's why there are never any group buys on his product. The best thing Jonas could do for us was buy it by the box and split it up. So what's the difference? Service. Not just good service, but exceptional service.
Last time I checked, you can reach Kevin at: koverall@ecsis.net or go to www.camaroz28.com because he hangs out there often in the Show and Shine section.
An another note, there are differences in towels:
Here's a FAQ off the Zainobros page:
Q: What is the best way to remove the polish residue?
A: The safest way to remove the residue from your paint is with white, made in USA, 100% cotton name brand large bath towels, such as Cannon or FieldCrest. Get them in the bath section at any major department store. The towels that you find in auto parts stores, or the auto sections of the department stores are usually not made in the USA, and even though they may say they are 100% cotton, they are not. Anything other than 100% pure white cotton may scratch your paint finish. You should use white towels because the dyes in colored towels can leave a chemical residue on the piant, and cause streaking. Also, it's important to either remove the stitched borders from your towels, or keep the towels folded in a way that keeps the borders away from the paint. The borders(edges or designs) can scratch your paint, as they may not be 100% cotton.
Wash your towels in hot water, and with a liquid detergent, like liquid Tide, or ALL. Avoid using Powdered detergents, Bleach or any kind of Fabric softeners as these products will leave a chemical residue on your towels that will cause streaking and scratching.

Message: Kevin is the best person to ask on the towels. He sells them for a pretty decent price and it does make a difference. The product that makes the biggest difference is the clay bar, but it's pretty expensive. You should be able to get at least 4 claying out of a package. If you find it to be too expensive for just a clay bar, see if anyone is willing to split it with you. It's the hardest product to convice people to get, but it makes the biggest difference!
Kevin is a real workable guy and might split up the shipping. See what he can do.
I don't think you'll need the towels with that you are getting though. Your order will come with an applicator pad already. Maybe you can get one more to remove the polish?
