My friends dad just got a brand new Ford FX4 with a 5.4L V8. He was saying that that truck could beat my truck in acceleration and in an all out race!!! I said whatever!!! What do ya'll think??? By the way, Both trucks are stock. My Dakota is a CC with a 5.2 and his truck is a CC but with that third door thing.

FX4 what? I hadn't heard of this until you mentioned it. After some quick research it looks to be an offroad package available on several different vehicles. The only one that i found so far that looks to come with the 5.4 is the expedition. The ranger has a 4.0L engine with the XL4 package. If it is actually and expedition i would laugh at him, then laugh some more. The 92/93 daks had the most powerful 5.2 engine to be put into a dakota. Mix that with being what, 1/2 ton lighter? Make him eat his words

93DakV8, my buddy leases a new F150 every three years. He currently has an '02 FX4 4x4, with a 5.4.
My '99 5.2 (which is probably 500 lbs heavier then your '93) stomps him badly in acceleration. We're talking by about 2 seconds or so, in the quarter.
My advice, make him a friendly wager, and run him at the track. That will shut him up, or (if he goes for it) embarrass him.
