Catch me come later!! Eddie It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.

Message: I always heard to break it in the same way your going to drive it any other time. Don't worry if it breaks - it's under warranty! Better now than when the warranty expires.

Message: Read the manual because breaking it in right will benefit you when the truck has 100,000 on it. What kinds dak you getting??
I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use? Toothpicks?

Message: Ordered a QC 2WD 4.7 5-speed. Patriot blue with silver.
I agree that if you drive it hard from the start, and it breaks, then it's under warranty. However, I also want it to last a LONG time without problems AFTER warranty!

Message: Almost tried and true if it makes that first 36,000 miles it will make the rest. I'm not saying drive it like you stole it till the # 3 connecting rod comes through the hood or 100,000 miles which ever comes first, just till you have a couple thousand miles on it and its broke in without coming apart.
Good Luck with the New Truck,

Message: Read the owners manual. Says to drive it with moderate acceleration or something like that. The part I do remember is the "periods of wide open acceleration where local laws permit". Lucky for Yates and I that meant hauling butt on the autobahn passing every thing in our way.

Message: I read the manual on mine, I remember that it said the 4.7 has no extensive break in period, but to avoid full throttle acceleration in first gear for XXX miles. For some reason i thought it mentioned 300 miles, maybe 500. I think newer engines are requiring less break in time.

Message: break in period what a joke, Nascar teams build em and run em full out in less then 20 miles. so does irl and indy cars. years ago saw a guy set a shorttrack record for qualifying in a car a bunch of kids in auto shop built, it had 6 laps in it at the time, and ran all year without breaking.
