It depends on when you got your 2000 model. I got my 2001 in July of 2001, one of the last 2001s built. Since then, I have put over 26,000 miles on it in its first year with me. That is the highest mileage I have put on any car. It wasn't helped by the fact that from May-August of this year I was driving it 1000 miles a week for my job!

putting 16,000 miles on in 5 months is high, but it isn't unheard of. It is well above average though.

Judging by the govt. std. of 15K/yr it's got about twice the miles it should. On the other hand, I don't know anyone who can keep that low, especially in Texas.
Based on the first 4.5 months I should be around 16,000 for the first year. Ya'll must hate those of us that commute a whopping 4 miles/day!

My Dak is a 2002, bought it in May of this year. Has about 1600 miles on it so far. I get so tired of spending all my time in the darn truck! ;-)

Another rub in!!!
Bought new (2000) on August 25 2000 , it now has 10,835!!!! Only 2 miles a day during the week!!
Oh , I forgot , little over 2 years , and NO DOOR DENTS!!!!! Rats , now I gotta knock on wood , fast!!!

yeah all you people who dont drive far to work are really missing out. I mean traffic brings a wonderful dose of stress, anger, and road rage.. YOu guys should really drive around the block a few times before pulling into work. :)

the mods although minimal for me right now, make my 220/day not so bad. its a good thing daks are comfortable, its part of the reason why I bought mine. Drove an extreme, noce but not a functional truck, too low, traded in a Ranger, not bad but had problems. so far my dak takes the cake.
