Subject: Stay away! Ultimate Linings

Just an FYI to any truck owner who may be thinking of a spray-in liner. I would highly
NOT recomment Ultimate Linings. I've had the
bed of my new Dakota Quad Cab sprayed twice
by two different installers. Still peeling
and I haven't even used it! I used my first
spray job from them by hauling a desk. It
tore up pretty bad. Just wanted to give y'all the heads up. I'm trying to get this out to all truck enthusiasts.

Thanks for listening...

Make them remove it, and give you your money back. Then go have Line-X sprayed in. You'll feel a lot better and not have to continually worry about it.

Jeffrey, I got your e-mail. Thanks for the heads up on the liner. Do as Ron says and go with Linex. I had a Linex sprayed in my bed this time last year for 350 bucks. It has faded a little, but still looks great. BUT...Don't go to the Stocton, CA Linex dealer! Piss-poor service! They got water in their lines and half of the liner bubbled up by the time I got home. Water in the lines can happen to any dealer, but if this happens they should do what they can to promptly remedy the situation. Plus give an adequate discount. They had to rip & sand the cured liner out which left exposed metal. My Quad was only three months old (wipes tear from eye) :-(. They couldn't finish in one day so when I brought it back on the SECOND (third time being there) day rust had already started its course. They offered fifty bucks for my inconvenience. ~15% off, but I told them that my time was worth 75 bucks a day, so @ two days, I wanted 150 smackers. Should've been free! We argued a bit and I finally got 100 bucks off. Again, it wasn't the Linex material problem, it was a dealer application problem.

Nahh i like linex rhino looks like hard plastic with raindrops on it and not as tough. The linex is a much nicer looking liner. Rhino would be second choice though.

My rhino doesn't look like hard plastic? Sure has a nice look and feel to it. Don't have to worry about stuff sliding around. It's a good 1/4" thick. Haven't had it long enuff to know how it will hold up, but can't say it looks as you described it, mar!
To each his own .. it's still about preference, and availability. There's not a Line-X distributor within 100 miles of me. Gotta take what's available sometimes! hehehe
But I'm not knockin' on my rhino.

I had ARMA coating since early '99 in the gray color. If you want smoother than Rhino this is it. It has held up great except for dulling a little.

If any of you are in the Atlanta area, I would recommend "ColorLiner". Their application methods to me are second to none. You can get an "over the edge" liner with a superb straight line. They use double faced tape with a heavy gauge string imbedded inside it. After the liner is applied, the string is peeled off and viola! a perfect straight line. The texture and quality seem the best to me also.

Keep it 'tween the lines and gun it.. that's technical talk-John Force

Interesting that whyjay91 couldn't leave his real name so that I could deal with his problem. However all the ul dealers have the 800 # to call for any complaints and like any of the spray on liner companys some dealers may not have done the job to the customers satisfaction.Thats where I come in.On the other hand the product is not bullet proof and will cut when dragging sharp objects accross it it seems that this is the case here. jerry ultimate linings

whats the meaning of stay away intenseDak39? No one can deal with a problem if they are unaware of it.We have a reputation of looking after these things.the warrantee is with the installing dealer but we do look after the customers and like I said I cannot read peoples minds.whatever your choice for spray in bedliners there are good and not so good dealers out there so my advice is check the installation quality before you spend the hard earned dollars.

I think the point Intense is trying to make is that the original post was made two years ago. Until you topped it, the whole matter had probably been long since forgotten. I gues it's kind of bone headed to drag something that happened two years ago out of the closet and shining a flashlight on it.

Kinda like if Bill Clinton were to go on CNN and claim he never had sexual relations with "that woman".

I had LineX of Tracy California do my truck. Two years later and it looks great still. I do a moderate off roading (yes in a Quad-Cab and to remote areas) and haul tools, camping gear and prospecting equipment.

The LineX liner has held up great. I had the bed over the rails done and the rear wheel wells (helps to cut road noise and stone damage).

Rhino in my area was comparatively expensive and limited availability. LineX is te way to go in my opinion.

I enjoy reading the Line-X referrals. It's with all of them I went with Line-X and not ultimate Linings. I think that original poster did an unfortuante diservice to that company.

I am on my second truck with the ultimate spray lining & have had no problems what so ever and I pack furnaces, water heaters & boilers in the trucks all the time. My 2 cents is ck. out the rep of the person doing the job before you get it done. am very happy with my lining.
