Message:
Over the last couple of days and miles my transmission seems to be slipping or not shifting properly. Some of the shifts seem rough or hard. When i shift into reverse the truck revs alittle before it starts to accelorate into reverse and when i reversed into a slighty uphill driveway and then stepped off the gas and brake the truck started to roll forward without any hesitation or resistance. Anybody else have these problems with a 2001 4.7, not sure what type of tranny ?

Take it in. There is a seal on the valve body that blows out and causes the trans to not go into reverse proporly or at all.

Take it to a transmission shop. This is what I do everyday, and trust me; there are more than a dozen things that cause these symptoms. Don't be surprised if it has to come out to determine problem.

Still has warranty, take it to the dealer. I suggest the seal because I have one apart right now. Should get parts tommorow.
