I called 1-800-4ADodge today and they told me that they have no plans of making the Diesel Dakota available in this country. It is available in South America so Why not the United States?
I would like for everyone who reads this to contact Daimler/Chrysler at the above number and tell them that we want it available here in the U.S. too !

Because some narrow minded hippies worked to get Diesel exhaust classified as a carcinogen diesels have been getting harder and harder to get produced even though they have some major benefits. There is also a $500 environmental impact fee that must be assessed (atleast in California) when one is purchased. Though with the rising cost of smog checks this may be well worth it :)
