Subject: A.R.E. TONNEAU OWNERS! IP: Logged
Message: I just got my A.R.E cover for my 02 Dakota QUAD. After inspecting the top it does not seal down the sides. I contacted the company and they know of the problem and they tell me that there is a seal kit being tested. I was wondering if any other A.R.E. owners have noticed this and if it lets in a lot of dust. I live on a dusty road.

Message: I just bought one for my 03. I noticed the same thing. I am guessing not much would get inside even without the seals. Hopefully a seal kit will come out, and will be free of charge.

Message: I have an ARE on my 2001 Club Cab and haven't had any problems with dirt or dust getting in there. I have run it through car washes and get a little bit of water in there, but nothing I wouldn't expect with water being shot in right on the side of the truck. I have had it in snow and rain and haven't had any problems. If they offer a seal kit though, I will put it on.

Message: I've got one that is about 16 months old now. They have changed the design since that. My buddy just got one for his Dak, it has nicer railings that are plastic instead of bar stock and the seals did look different. My (*&^ seals keep turning the white paint on the top of my tailgate black. It's a pain but everything stays nice and dry
Cheers!

Message: Ive had the Lo-Pro cover on for about 16 months. I dont have any problem with it soo far. Sure a little water gets in but its no big deal.
Ive heard others having problems with the locks breaking very easily but other than that mine has held up pretty well.

Message: Got the Seal installed A.R.E Stepped up to bat and admitted that they had a problem. If you would like the seal kit I would talk with your local dealer. If you do not get the seal and you live on a gravle road the back of the truck will fill with dust if not then you may not see a problem.

Message: I guess I don't go on gravel roads enough to notice a problem. Did you see a difference after the seal was installed?
