Most of the car giants have their brands and what their brands do. GM for example basically, they take model A (chevy most likely) and have 3 different levels of it (original *chevy*, orignal w/more styling *gmc*, and luxorious *caddilac*)
Now we have our beloved DaimlerChrylser. Dodge makes trucks, Chrylser makes basically cars+pt cruiser, Jeep (2 suv's, jeep), Mercedes (luxorious), and so on. What I'm getting at is it just me or would you guys love to see say the Dodge Ram or Dakota made by Chrylser ie Dodge is to Chevy as Chrysler is to GMC?
I think right now DaimlerChrysler is too scattered with its brands but hey, thats just me. What you guys think? Its hard to tell what each brand is ment for.

Back in the good old days you had Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth, and many models were just alike except badging.
Dodge Truck - Plymouth Truck
Dodge Ramcharger - Plymouth Trailduster
I could go on and on and on.
My predictions is that you will one day see all of an automakers cars and trucks come together under one roof and be sold at a "Mega Auto Mall".
It is unfortunate but true that the big three automakers are pushing towards eliminating small hometown one or two badge dealerships.

Plymouth and Mercury Pick-Up trucks fetch top dollar at every antique and classic auto show I have ever attended.

Well I can see why they killed off Plymouth since it was suppose to be the entry level but then Dodge wasn't too far off in price. I still like GM's branding more. Ford's branding it kind of scattered just like DC's.
I guess they cant brand too much since anything released would compete against another ie if Chrylser offered their version of the Viper ie Caddilac's Corvette (XLR). I would like to see more put into the Chrylser brand since their niche is uhh?! Plus, Jeep offers 2 suv's yet their niche is offroad which competes with the PT Cruiser (kinda) and the Dodge Durango.
Woundering when Dodge will release their version of the Ford Excursion/Chevy Suburban. Come on now, they have the platform (Dodge Ram) but guess no executive backing.

Here is a list of things that I am waiting for :
1. A diesel powered dakota.
2. A V-8 powered Prowler.
3. A large Dodge SUV w/CUMMINS Engine.
4. A rear-wheel drive family sedan from Dodge.
5. A 2-Ton Dodge cab and chasis.
6. A new and very improved Dodge Van.
Sometimes I wonder where those engineers have their heads.

but 2 ton chassis try freightliner its part of the dc family

well they dont make the prowler anymore. rwd family sedan will be happening with the charger. yes it has 4 doors. as far as the other things, they prolly will never happen

I contacted Dodge about the Dakota Diesel and they told me at this time there are no plans to bring that vehicle to this country.

I'd buy an AMC Dakota
or how about a Desoto Dakota ? That way we can order it with the Firedome engine in it!!
They could even take names from their war era and make a car called the B-26 Marauder!
Maybe we could start a petition?
