Subject: 4.7 4X4 or 5.9... IP: Logged
Message: i'm getting a new truck soon, but don't know what to get. I want a dakota cc V8. I live phoenix, but i am in burbank for college, which means i am moving twice a year, so i want a club cab v8 for space and power(i hate quad cabs, sorry). We have a 17' ski boat(which we use our van to pull), and i might take my truck out on the beach, that is why i want a 4x4, but i won't use the 4x4 mode very ofter, so i can spend the same money for a 5.9 RT 4x2. Can you tow with an R/T? what do you guys think i should do?

Message: for starters you can use a different name before your ip gets banned from this site!
if your going on the beach and useing the truck to tow a boat id get the 4x4.some of those launch ramps are pretty slippery at low tide power to the front wheels would help you there!have you seen a quad cab up close?i wish i had one now that my kids are bigger the club cab seats aren't fun for them anymore.
98 club cab sport 5.2 4x4 durtydog is done dirt cheap

Message: Someone correct me if I`m wrong , but I don`t think you can tow with the R/T. When they first came out , there was a lawsuit against Dodge because they mistakenly overrated the hauling and towing capacity.Chrysler corrected the numbers on the the R/Ts and were selling them with lower rated numbers for payload and towing. After they sold the first few thousand or so, before they caught their mistake, to people , some like youself , that were going to use them for something other than going fast to the grocery store , those people realised they bought a truck that they couldn`t use as they needed.
I believe Chrysler either bought them back , or reimbursed those people who brought on the lawsiut.
Personally I really like my QC 4.7 auto with the all-wheel-drive transfer case. It gives you the best of both worlds.I think you can still get the AWD option on the CC. If not , I`d still go with the 4X4.
