Message: You can turn them, but that's only a temp fix. I had my original rotors turned and it helped for maybe 2500 miles or so and they warped again. The stock rotors are the problem. I switched to Raybestos pads and rotors and they are a bit better. Less brake dust, but they have been on approx 12,000 miles and they are starting to warp as well it feels like.
They are fine when cold, but start to warp after a good stop. My next try will be the pro slots to see if they are any better.

Message: How old is the truck? If its still under warranty then take it to the dealer, there was a rotor issue in the past.
I had to have mine warranteed out at 12,000 miles after the dealer had already turned them 2 times within the previous 12,000 miles.

Message: Torqueing the lugnuts to proper spec (look in your owners manual) will eliminate most rotor warping problems. 34,000 miles, numerous tire rotations, brakes all stock, not one problem. Try it.

Message: If you decide to replace your rotors consider upgrading to aftermarket rotors. I know Brembo makes a good set for about $230 each. GT Rotors, Baer, etc are possibilities.

Message: man what are you guys doing to those things??? I'll have 19,000 miles on my truck soon and no problems, and yes I have had plenty of panic stops. But like Big Blue QC says torque your lug nuts right. I have had 2 flats, both times I drove the truck in and told the tire guy, no one drives my truck, rolled the tire into the shop, had them fix the tire, took it home and put it on myself, those $6 per hour guys just impact them on. they don't care about your rotors, they just don't want your tire to fall off. I have also rotated the tires 3 times myself, Go to sears and get a craftsman torque wrench there like $90 or so
