Subject: Tow point on front end
IP: Logged

Message:
I recently got stuck in a ditch (rear wheels) and had to be pulled out (no 4x4). We couldn't find anywhere around the front end to hook a chain! We wound up looping it around what I think was a control arm. The guy that did it was a mechanic and stated that was the only place he could see that might be strong enough. I have a 96 CC.
Did we miss something? Is there a recommended tow point for Gen II's?

Thanks!
Tim R.

Reciever hitch is about the only thing that's possible.

If you had the new style lower valance then you could add tow hooks using a mounting bracket that I have the designs to posted on my website.

For anyone that wants to make those mounts double check the measurements before you get them cut because some trucks are differen't then otheres.

Uhh Knobby, he has a 96.

The easiest way is to botlt a tow hook to the frame right behind the bumper. Depending on where the bumber is relative to the frame you may need some type of bracket kind of like Knobby's to drop it down.

Wait.. didn't dodge make a tow-hook package for the 96's?

Yea I know..but I figured someone w/ a new style was going to ask so I'd answer it while I could.
