This is the aforementioned Jim, checking in. I am in Bolingbrook, I am interested. Scott, overstated my Dak. It has some great mods but it's not an R/T. Just can't drive an automatic truck. My preference, to each his own. I'm going to Italy tomorrow so I won't be around for over 2 weeks. If anything comes of this, let me know through Scott (born2steel21). Thanks!

Back again. I just realized that this is an opportune time to mention to some local people that a recently put a fiberglass lid on my Dak and I have a MoPar tonneau cover for a 6 1/2 ft. bed for sale cheap! ($75) My e-mail is dakotajim@attbi.com. Thanks!

Oh yeah, forgot its not an R/T. You can't help but assume that it is with that awesome paint scheme...I'm heading to the Ohio meet on Friday afternoon but if you guys want to put together an Illinois meet or start an Illinois chapter, I'm there. I've been meaning to meet up with Jim to check out his truck for a while now so it wouldn't be to hard to extend that to a meet. There's alot of dak's roaming around here so it would be well worth it, I think.

Hi all,
I'm in Jacksonville, 30 miles west of Springfield. There is a cruise night on Sat. Sept. 21 in Jacksonville. Car show on Sun. Last year there was about 400 cars at the cruise, including a bagged R/T and some other Daks. I'll be there if anyone wants to meet up. Let me know.

BTW, you guys missed a good meet at the Ohio Dakota cruise in. I think I was the only representative from Illinois. It was a long drive but it was definately worth it.

4 corners is usually a cool place to meet for gatherings.. why.. cuz tons of other crews show up and when a huge mess of dakotas roll up its kinda a show stopper. there usually is some racing and fun stuff.. lots of local bars and other things to do after we would hang out there. i went last week for a crown vic meet.. my kid brother races them.. go figure.. but all in all it was a good time

im from bolingbrook to.. as for 4 corners. its located on 75th and lemont roads cross. each corner is a different town.. hence the name. anyways i think the towns are downers grove darien woodridge and naperville. but not exactly sure. if and when you all plan this meet.. try to make it for a weekend.. im in school learing how to fly for the air force at the harvard of the midwest.. yes siu. lol.. anyways i hope everyone has a good week and enjoys driving fast this weekend i know i wont after the ticket i got last week.. 81 in a 55 yuck..

Not in IL but i am in STL and would be willing to drive if the meeting was big enough and on a weekend maybe make a weekend of it and stay at a hotel around the area!! Sounds like fun. My dad is involved in the TDR(turbo diesel register) and the guys from the stl area meet in edwardsville township park most of the time and it is alot of fun getting together and bsing about your trucks. I would like to meet alot of the STL area guys and maybe convoy up there if we can get a good group!!!
Hope we get something going this sounds like fun!!!

Ok, here's the dealio. Chris is talking about getting dakotausa.com started again were there is chapters from every state including Illinois. We could start a new Illinois chapter but we would have to pay dakotausa membership dues and abide by their affiliation rules or we just go off on our own. I also am fairly new to Illinois and I have no idea on where to hold a dakota meet. I also have little time right now to devote to this because I go to work and school full time but I'm willing to invest as much as I can. If we're going to do this we should also try to get a website together for Illinois dakotas. Let me know how you guys think we should go about doing this.
