Message: I just ran up to the store and I was driving down the road and next thing you know I am dodging a piece of assphalt on the road.I tryed to miss it butt it clipped my rim.NASTY SCRATCHES and it really pisses me off.It looks all most as bad as a curbed rim.
Anybody got suggestions on how to remove deep scratches on BOYDS? by the way it only scratched the hoop so I guess the last resort would be to rehoop the rim!

Message: I can sympathize. I had my Boyds on for about 48 hours when I had to swerve to avoid an old couple that were drifting into my lane. I gouged one of them pretty badly on the curb. Apparently they can be polished out, but it isn't cheap. I'm going to wait until I take them off for winter.

Message: Rob, dont worry. sand paper will take it out. i know it sounds harsh, but it works. start with a rough grit (depending on how bad the scratch is, you will have to start with a lower grade paper) and work your way down to wet and dry 600 grit.
after it is smooth, use some polish like mothers, and polish it to a mirror finish.
good luck

Message: I thought about that too - especially after seeing what a great job intense99 Chuck did on the aluminum parts in his engine bay - and mostly using sandpaper. I haven't been brave enough to try it though. Let me know how it works out Rob. :)
