 Subject: 94 Dakota rough running

I have a 94 dakota ext-cab with 3.9 v-6. I took it to my dealer who replaced the fuel pump, plugs, and told me the cat converter was plugged.
Since I don't have much money, I took off converter. Starts o.k. now. The next problem (which I had before replacing the pump also) is rough running and backfiring. Replaced the o2 sensor last nite and after finding a vacuum leak ran nice and smooth. Took off for doctor this morning 65 miles away and ran fine for about 15 miles. Started to miss and run rough again. Made it home slowly. Now getting a 27 code where nothing last nite after putting in new o2 sensor.
Any suggestions as to my next spot to look at?
Remember, I don'thave much money.
