Message: Anybody else having these problems. Right now I can't lock my doors using the electric locks on the door panel. Tonight, while driving home, my lights started flashing along with all the other lights inside the truck. Now my lights won't come on, the doors won't lock, windshield wipers don't work, about the only thing it does is run. Which did me alot of good tonight, driving home in the dark while it rained. I'm about to take this 2002 Dakota quad cab 4by4 with only 2200 miles and shove it somewhere! I have a major electrical problem somewhere, and the worst thing about it is the dealer, I hate messing with my local dealer. I didn't buy the truck there, so he could care less about it. I can't even drive it now. When I put the key in, it gives a horrible sound of the alarm trying to go off, everything electrical is flashing, the lights won't come on, and even with the truck off, I have a buzzing sound under the hood.

Message: Hey Todd,
Sounds like you need a box of Diamond "Strike Anywhere" matches!!
Prospector
p.s.
Or you could just leave the keys in it and park it on the southside of town.

Message: hey todd, i have a 2001 dak and my lights done the same thing last fall. i took it to the dealer and they had it for about a week before they could even figure out what the problem was. they said it was my center control module. i dont know the price because it was still under warranty. and as far as the alarm, buzzing, and your locks i never had that problem just the lights flashing and i barely made it home that night. they started flashing about 30 minutes from my house and as soon as i pulled in the drive way the went out. hope this helps a little

Message: I also have a 2002 Sport RC, and I haven't had any electrical problems...thanks for small miracles?...but it sounds like you got some water in somewhere it doesn't belong. You said it was raining when this started, and water in electronics is a definite no-no. I've heard a few people say that they've had water come in around their hood and get into the PCM's connectors...they sit right under the hood seam on the passenger side. I don't know for sure if the PCM has any control over the lights and other electrical things like that, or if there's another control module somewhere. But, I'd start with the PCM by unplugging the connectors and blowing them out if they're wet, then try it again. It may cure itself if it has some dry weather and some time to dry out. You may want to put some type of flap or other waterproofing device over top of the PCM for insurance...

Message: I unhooked the battery and let it sit for a couple hours, now that I've hooked it back up, everything seems to be fine. I HOPE!
