Alright, I got the Valve covers loose, but there is the friggin a/c condensor line and the fuel suppy line on the driver's side(left) in the way! I can't break the a/c line cuz I'll lose all my pressure, and the fuel line will not come loose ever after the clip has come off. Any tips on this? Also if do need to remove an accesory. How do I loosen the belt? Us it the smooth groove pulley? Loosen the bolt and push the pulley in?? Thanks, I'll check this in a few.

QwikKota, unbolt the air conditioning
compressor and move it to the side.Unbolt the
fuel rail on both sides of the engine,
disconnect the fuel injector electric
connectors, all eight. Gently pull the fuel rail
up, with the injector attached and lay on the
master cylinder. You will also have to undo the
power steering pump, so you can torque the
sprocket bolt. Take your time.

How do I detension/tension the belt? Are you sure you can't just disconnect that fuel supply connection? That would be 10 times easier.

You can buy the quick-disconnect tool at NAPA to get that fuel line off the fuel rail..... or you can make one.

Inside the "belled" part of the connector is 4 or 5 fingers that catch on the fuel rail outlet. You have to make something for these fingers to slide on. I made one from the nozzle end of a silicone tube and I've also made one from the end of a ball point pen. You want the inside diameter to match the diameter of the fuel rail outlet and the outside diameter to be as small as possible. You slide it between the fuel rail inlet line and the fuel line connector. It will need a slot in it so you can slip it over the tubing. It will need to be fairly short in order to get between the rail the the connector. Slip it in place and slide it into the connector to hold the fingers back as you pull the connector off.

It might be easier for you just to remove the 4 small screws that hold the fuel rail in place like Chipster said.

The AC line is actually your heater lines. Take the airhat assembly off the throttle body and there are two places where the heater lines are held in place. Both of those will snap loose with a straight slot screwdriver. From there you can lift the lines up high enough to get the valve cover off and get to the cams.

The belt tensioner has a 15mm hex head on it. Put a wrench on it and pull the tensioner toward the center of the engine...... then lift the belt off the easiest pulley. You can also do this without a wrench..... just push the tensioner toward the center and pull the belt off.

Yeah, thanks a bunch. I just got the tool at Autozone, pieces of plastic for $10, nice. Yeah I got the heater lines off, no prob. The line on the passengers side is the a/c condensor line, pressurized. I have to remove the compressor to get enough slack. Sucks, but I guess I have to do this on the PS pump anyway. Ok, thanks.
