I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their speedometer jumping around and what fixed it. Mine almost always reads 80mph when I'm running between 45-65mph. Every now and then it drops down and reads the correct speed. Any ideas?

If you can remove the cable dip it in some
powdered graphite and replace it.
Be sure to wear gloves or you will never get it
off your hands.
It will never stick again, had the same problem on a 66 Impala SS.

The speed sensing unit is bad. You'll need to get a new one.
They are not very hard to replace, Just unplug the old one, cut and splice the new one on and plug it back in. It should be on the drivers side of your transmission, up towards the front.
hope this helps.
