My 1992 v6 dakota auto trans has quit shifting into overdrive. I have been told it is the speed sensor or the temp sensor. Is there a way to check either of these without replacing them ? Where is the temp sensor located ? Thanks

Any trans shop can check them for ya. they may check the resistance of the switches, a high read is bad, a low read is good, but i am not sure what the ohm resistance measurement is to be, but i know the trans shop sure knows.
