Subject: Removing decals IP: Logged
Message: I want to remove the SLT sticker and the DODGE from the tailgate. How would one go about getting the badges/letters off and once they are off. Is there any glue that has to be cleaned up? Thanks

Message: Chris,
I took mine off with a heat gun and used finger nail polish remover to finish getting the residual glue off. On my sport the DODGE on the back and the SPORT on the side was easy, the DAKOTA on the side left a lot of glue that was hard to get off, realy thing decals.
Good Luck

Message: Use a hair dryer to warm the decals and or plastic badges and after you get them very warm peel them off.
I know this part is going to sound crazy but the best thing that I have found to remove adhesive from your nicely painted surface is AVON Skin So Soft, Spray it on and rub it around with your fingers to loosen the glue and then wipe it off with a paper towel.

Message: Easiest thing ever is an eraser wheel. It is worth the $10-15 for something that will strip off a decal in a matter of seconds. Just put the wheel in a drill and buff away the offending sticker. Doesn't scratch the paint.
