Subject: DynoMax muffler doesn't fit regular cab

Message:
pbxr posted that he replaced his stock muffler with a DynoMax Super Turbo Muffler Part#17748. I just wanted to post that this muffler doesn't fit regular cab Dakotas. I bought the exact same muffler from summit and they couldn't install it because its too long because it would require cutting one of the factory hangers. The could have fabbed it to make it work but I reall didn't want to hear my exhaust rattling around so back to summit it goes. Just wanted to let people know before they make the same mistake I did.

Wow that is short

The parts look up I did for a factory muffler didn't make any reference as being for RC or CC, just said "all"

You might use the #17733, the muffler is 14" long with the overall length 18.5" I had this on my truck first, but got annoyed at the in Cab buzz around 1500 rpm, at idle it sounds just like the #17748

If your interested in one and you make it to the OHIO Dak Meet I've got the one I had on my truck for about a mo.-3,000 miles looks like new.

The stock muffler on my 2002 V6 RC is 24" long...that's just the body, not the extensions...28" with the extensions.

Thanks Dan. I might take you up on that offer. I got a muffler guy thats supposed to give me a quote on a dual catback custom fabricated tomorrow. I'm supposed to get some kind of discount and everybody I know has referred me to him so I'll see how that goes. Glad you're coming to the meet and I'll let you know about the muffler. Thanks.
