Hello-
I have a 2000 Dak Quad Cab 4x2. It came stock with 255 65 R15 tires, but they look whimpy and small. Does anyone know the max tire size I can go to in the 2-wheel drive without any rubbing, either when turning or at max. GVWR??
Someone at Sears told me 31x10.5 R15 but I don't really trust them. Plus I will be putting them on myself to save $$ and won't be able to cry to them if they rub, etc.

Well, for the 16" rims quite a few people have put 275/60R16 and 285/60R16s on and kept the stock diameter (29"). I'm looking at getting some 315/55R16's on the rear if I can find them (BFG discontinued the tire)

Pirelli makes a tire called the scorpion. Had them on my old dak with 15 inch wheels. I think I got the 30x9.5. I don't think they rubbed, but don't remember for sure. It would only be when doing tight turns though. I think were like $90 a piece. I have them on my wife's blazer now. They make a big difference over stock.

you can buy mine used and try them out...Goodyear 31x10.5x15 RT/S's. Two tires have only 3k on them and the other two have 65%-70% tread left. They probably have more than that but I want to understate the treadwear so I don't piss anyone off after they buy them. Selling for $200.

Buy them at Discount Tire. If they don't fit, you won't have to pay for them.
They have good prices, AND they will deal. Tell them what you can get them for somewhere else and make them an offer.
I recently bought some tires from them that I was not sure would fit. I offered them about $50 less than their standard price and they took it. The understanding was, of course, if the tires didn't fit, I didn't have to buy them.

Josh, your scaring me to say they only rub when you turn, is crazy. the last thing you want is your tire to rub when your in trouble emergency stop turning to avoid something, or some one, that could kill you or worse yet them.
PLEASE make sure your tires can’t rub under any condition, I might be the one trying to avoid you.

I would agree with Dakaty and Bob W. Go to discount tire or a tire place and try to test fit these first before you buy. You really don't want them to rub. If you still want the tires after that give me a zip code and I'll try to figure out the shipping. I have 1999 stock wheels for sale too but two of them have a little bit of rubbing damage on the inside of the wheels. I posted a thread for these under "Group Buys" that explains everything.
