My tachometer in my Dakota gets stuck and won't move for days. Then all of a sudden it will work again. Anyone know how I can solve this? Thank You

I have a 96 dak. and my tach jumps all over the place. and then works fine. Let me know what you find out

It could possibly be the tachometer cable. My speedometer used to do that on my 89 toyota. I never got around to fixing it though... I've heard all you have to do is take it out and lube it up.
