I would think it's possible to do. Did anyone ever try doing this, or seen it? Can you get rubber to fit on these 17" rims without the tire rubbing the fenders? Not a street tire it's still a 4X4.
I'm curious to see how it looks, even tho I wouldn't do something like that.

On my 2001 Dakota 4x4 I have 265/70 R16 tires and 16" wheels. If I were to put the 17" R/T wheels on and put 265/65 R17 tires it would be the same size as stock only with bigger wheels. The Durango R/T is 4x4 and has the R/T wheels.
Soon to be 2001 Dakota CC Sport , 4.7L ,Auto, Loaded

The Dakota R/T has 255/55 R17 tires and the Durango R/T has 275/60 R17 tires.

Hello,
I was reading this and I am in a little dilema. I need to know if it is possible or not to put 4x4 Dodge Durango R/T rims on a 2 wheel drive Dodge Dakota? I was also wondering are the Durango R/T rims exactly the same as the Dakota R/T rims?

I have both a Dakota R/T and a Durango R/T. Both wheels are the same size 17 X 9. The only difference is that my Dakota has smaller profile tires while the Durango has higher profile tires which look better on a 4X4. Also the Durango came with chrome R/T wheels while the Dakota had the silver painted R/T wheels. Now I got American Racing Torque Thrust 6 spoke 20's on it.

Both Dakota R/T and Durango R/T wheels came in chrome in 02+ models. The 98-01 models came with silver painted r/t rims
